Where we are

We are in the district of Santa Maria Novella very close to the central train station, called Florence S.M.N (Santa Maria Novella) here comes most of the trains coming from every area of Italy and from abroad.

Our central location is ideal for those who decide to arrive by train, given the proximity you can immediately leave the luggage at the reception without having to drag the luggage through the cobblestone streets of the old town. Also if you need you can use the nearby taxi or bus station.

For those of you who have to attend a congress or an important fair, we are very close to the Palazzo dei Congressi and degli Affari, at the Fortezza da Basso, where important events such as the craft show (Mostra dell'Artigianato) or Pitti Immagine (most important fashion exhibition) take place.
In addition to the beautiful monumental churches of Santa Maria Novella and its amazing cloisters, you will also find the church of Ognissanti and the famous Pharmacy of Santa Maria Novella, full of history and typical and exclusive aromas of Florence.

The Duomo of Florence can be reached on foot from the station in about 10 minutes as well as the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery.

In the area of Santa Maria Novella are also located excellent restaurants where you can enjoy excellent pizzas and a fantastic Florentine steak (will be happy to help you discover these restaurants) many pubs and discos that especially in the summer come alive with young people from all parts of the world. Also in this area just outside the station, passing in front of McDonald's you will find Piazza dell'Unità Italiana and going through it all in diagonal you will easily reach San Lorenzo, an area famous for the homonymous market where you can find objects of any kind made craft and above all you can visit the central market, where now in addition to buying views and fresh fruit, on the first floor you can also enjoy a lunch and dinner out of the ordinary!

How to reach us

From the station of Firenze Santa Maria Novella is only 300 meters walking out of the station, once you get at the end of the train platform take the exit on your right (do not take the left one) get down the white stairs, cross the road, turn right, then take the first street on your left, Via Orti Oricellari, until you get in Via della Scala and make left, after 10 meters at number 48 you will find our bed and breakfast. La Locandiera b&b is located on the first floor with an elevator for your luggage, you have to ring the bell (the second from the bottom) and push the door to enter.

From this month February 2019 from the airport will be now available the new line T2 Tramvia that in almost 20 minutes will reach the train station of Santa Maria Novella.
